I get unnecessary anxiety when I see episodes from seasons 8 and 9 of Roseanne playing on TV because I always wonder, “what if someone is watching Roseanne for the first time and they judge it based on an episode from season 8 or 9!?”
I truly believe one of the reasons Roseanne is such an underrated show is because of the last two seasons. The show, IMO, peaked during season 5 but remained strong until season 8. Pretty much the only redeeming quality of season 8 is the ’50s show.
At Roseanne’s peak, it was the greatest sitcom to ever be created. Sadly, not everyone who catches a re-run will see this. And that’s the greatest shame of all.
Roseanne is such a well-written show, yet it is completely misjudged by so many people. It is actually one of the most groundbreaking shows to have ever hit television. It is progressive, feminist and extremely funny. It is my favorite show and will probably always be my favorite show. Watching it brings me comfort and lessens my anxiety. It helps me think differently about certain issues, and allows me to take a break from my own life and enter a world where the characters are more real, touching, and complex than almost all of those on ‘reality’ TV today.
best real housewives is beverly hills by far!
all the shows I’m up-to-date on: “jersey shore” “bad girls club” “love games” “teen mom” “real housewives of beverley hills” “keeping up with the kardashians” “mob wives” & “dance moms” — this is a sick addiction. my generation is so screwed but I can’t stop watching.
We spend so much money on the military, it’s no wonder we have smart bombs and stupid kids
