This is why the Clinton’s are so successful — Bill and Hillary play the political game better than the Republicans do. The Clinton’s understand that the best defense is a good offense, and they fight fire with fire. Obama would be wise to tap Hillary as VP because the Clinton’s are ruthless and know how to win. They are the masters of the game, which is why Obama tapped Hillary as Secretary of State — he understands that it’s better to have the Clinton’s in his inner circle rather than standing in his way on the outside running wild. The reason Republicans fought so hard to prevent Hillary from becoming the Democratic nominee is because they know they can’t steamroll the Clinton’s like they are doing to Obama because the Clinton’s tend to be the ones doing the steamrolling. It was much easier to stop Hillary from getting the Democratic nomination, among Democrats who prefer the philosophical Obama, than it would have been to try and stop her agenda once she was in Washington (which, she would have been a shoe-in, considering how much of an anti-Republican year 2008 was). The Republicans were genius to knock Hillary out of the Democratic nomination, because they knew once in Washington, the Clinton’s would have pushed their agenda through, unlike Obama.
